Intellectual and industrial property

Augé Legal&Fiscal has defended the interests of its clients in Intellectual Property matters since 1996, at the level of both registration and litigation, becoming a benchmark firm in this field.

The Intellectual Property Department was created following the adoption of the legal framework in the field of trademarks in 1995 (Act of 11 May 1995 and Regulation of 28 December 2015).

Mr. Pere Augé was one of the first agents accredited by the Patent and Trademark Office of the Principality of Andorra (OMPA). In 2015 (Act 26/2014 of 30 October and Regulation of 22 July 2015), the Augé Group expanded its service offering to registration and litigation in the field of patents with the adoption of the Andorran patent Act and its implementing regulation. This speciality also enables the representation of clients’ interests with respect to copyright and related rights, in particular through the public law body engaged in the collective management of these rights.

A legal framework relating to State signs and “.ad” domains has also been implemented which involves elements specific to Andorra (Regulation of 20 September 2000).

The country’s economic liberalisation and the new fiscal framework approved at global level have created opportunities for Andorran companies in the management of intangible assets and, in particular, in intellectual and industrial property. Furthermore, the registration and use of an Andorran trademark and/or patent contribute, together with other legal criteria, to giving substance to the activity of an Andorran company.
